|
|
I have just gone from a Navman iCN610 to a Navman F20.
With the 610 , you could look at the screen from any angle in any light conditions and still see perfectly OK.
But I am finding that with the F20 , in brighter conditions you can't see a thing on the screen.
Does anybody know if there is a solution to this ? ..........Please don't suggest only driving at night , the wife tried that one already ( thinks she's funny now ) _________________ Keith

No , I already tried them screen protectors.
I was paranoid about fingers marks on the screen and how to clean them off so I tried them..................Rubbish !!
I challenge anybody to try to put them things on without getting ANY air bubbles , it is IMPOSSIBLE !!!
Luckily enough , I think it was on this forum , I saw a post from someone who said he uses the rubber on the end of a pencil to touch his screen with........GENIUS !!!
Excuse the rant there , in answer to your question , no I don't think they will work.
Thanks anyway. _________________ Keith

Have a look at Glare Stomper they have a hood listed for the F20 but the pictures look a bit dubious, they probably don't have the hardware to update the photos, that said it looks like it should fit, see Here
I have used these products on Navman, TomTom and Garmin devices and they do improve the quality of the display in bright sunlight - as a secondary purpose they also act as a screen protector when the device is not in use - Mike |

It's not the prettiest thing is it !
I think I will look to see if there is anything else about , before I start parting with my hard earned for " that ".
It looks like it might help , but it is so bl@@dy horrible looking !!!
Thanks for getting back to me with it anyway , it is an option. _________________ Keith

No it is not attractive looking but it is functional and gives the display a chance against low sunlight, I don't like using, them but from time to time they are very handy and work very well against this problem.
If you find anything else that fits please let us know as this is a sought after option during the summer months - Mike |

This may seem a little silly but try adjusting the angel and placment of the device to avoid reflecting sunlight towards you! Mine is angled towards the roof of the car where it is nice and dark and often cuts the glare by half. _________________ Dom

I have a Garmin iOue 3200 and I also have this problem. OK, it's not the most up to date unit but it does all that I want it to do and I can't justify replacing it. To add to my problem I use it in a sports car and when the hood is down light comes from all round and makes the screen very difficult to see. I've tried changing the angle and placing it all around the dash area of the car but with little success. I'd really appreciate it if someone could come up with an answer to this problem. |
