Hi,
hopefully this is the same on all other 910 tom tom's
When planning a route using advanced planning if I click the done button after checking out a proposed trip, my unit then proceeds to plan a route to the destination point that I was just looking at, from my home address,
sometimes it even goes into loop and plans the route over and over again, cancelling the route will stop it completing and a reset will cure the repeat of the planning, but it still plans it the once after leaving advanced planning, anybody know why it does this and is it the norm

I have a tinfoil (Bacofoil actually!!) pouch that I sit mine in. this cuts the satellite signal and it works as you want.
But you may also have a fault if it cycles. Mine has never done that. _________________ TTGO 700 (dead)

It's normal dont worry about it. Just cancel the route when you have finished playing and all should be well. If the route wont clear at all then there is something amiss.
The reason for the route recalc over and over is due to the 910 loosing a lock to the satellites when inside a building or in a weak signal location, the location then starts to drift a little. Everytime it gets a lock onto 3 or more satellites you will find that the blue arrow showing your location on screen jumps to another location as it gets a better fix of your true location. Tomtom then does a recalc because it thinks you have moved somewhere else. |

Mine does the repeated recalculation if I stay put in the start position. As soon as I start driving it settles down and follows my progress

It normally does the recycling bit if you're off road slightly, and stationary.
If instead of pressing DONE you use Details, you can look at all the Route information to check it, before coming back to the 'DONE' Screen. _________________ Richard
