question about tt1 speed camera database and its operation

Okay following a slight accident with previous garmin unit bought a tt1 (it says V4!!!!) anyway got a 1 month trial of speed camera dbase from tomtom so downloaded and installed it. Drove past some known sites and . . . . silence.

Found the map and looked for closest speed camera - 17 miles away!!! What is missing on their dbase are the mobile ones which we have loads of and very few fixed.

I think that reading a combination of things that the speed camera dbase is a tt+ product and the mobile cameras are dynamically downloaded from a data connection with my mobile - have i understood this correctly??

I am guessing that a download of the pocketgps dbase makes more sense as without the mobile dbase the tt will be useless.

Can anyone shed any light as to whether what I have read/assumed etc is correct and which speed camera dbase would be the best option for me.

Your observation is spot on, go with the pocketgps offering for the database and you can even have spoken camera alerts that inform you of the camera type and speed, a much better solution all round - Mike
