|
|
Hi guys. I'm going on a camping holiday shortly, and would like to store the locations of the campsites I visit. I have created a poi category called "My Campsites" to store their locations by gps position. Could somebody inform me of the procedure involved to store my current location on arrival at the campsite.
Kind Regards,
Phil. |

When you are at the campsite, do the following:
Change preferences --- Manage POIs --- Add POI --- (Select Category) --- GPS Position |

Yeah I've just done a "dummy" run, and stored a gps position in "my campsites", but now I cant find a way to navigate there. When I select Navigate to - POI, I only have the options "near you" "in city" or "near home". As allot of these campsites will be out in the countryside, I won't always know exactly which town/village the campsite may come under. Is there a another more direct method to locate the poi?
Kind Regards,
Phil. |

Those categories still list all the PoI's. They just change the order they are listed. _________________ TTGO 700 (dead)

Thanks for that sgould. I've now managed to locate it by selecting "poi near home", and scrolling down the list. The only trouble is giving the campsite entries descriptive names/information. EG. "Orchard Farm langollen Good" etc. Does anybody know how many characters I can enter for each title? |

It's quite a lot. When looking down the list, if you keep you finger on the name, it will shrink the font size and show the whole name. And the phone number, if you entered it. _________________ TTGO 700 (dead)

Selecting a POI to navigate to is fine if the category only contains a few. However, if you have a very large database, (the ADAC campsite one for example), how do you select a campsite as a destination when you are a thousand or so miles away. All I've been able to do so far is look on a map to find somewhere nearby, navigate there, and then search for POIs near me. Is there a better way? |

Easiest way is to select the option poi "near destination" or "near city". City doesn't really mean just a city, it really means any town, village or district. |

You can use Find to input a part of the Name. It doesn't have to be the first letter or word. TT will do middle of string searches. _________________ Richard
