|

I used to use a Tom Tom Classic in my last car and liked the Speed Camera warnings. Having just bought a new Prius with a Sat Nav built into the dash board I'm wondering if it's possible to upload Speed Cam (and other) POIs to that as well? I had hoped to give my daughter the Tom Tom as she'll be buying an old run around soon - but am I really going to have to ignore the Toyota Sat Nav and stick to the TT? |

As in this post from yesterday, it all depends on whether your new sat-nav can import "custom POIs". check out the manual or ask Toyota, but so far I'm afraid that most built-in systems can't. |

Can anybody advise to see if one can import POIs to the SatNav in the Toyota Prius - I have ordered one of these BUT must wait 3 weeks.
I have TomTom and I love it.
Any help would be appreciated.

As Andy has said above, most if not all satnavs fitted by car manufacturers are locked so that you cannot add any sort of data except updated maps (which are usually very expensive).
Sorry!

Yes, the Prius sat nav is locked and the update DVDs are extortionately expensive...
...I have a friend who owns a Prius and when his gets any more out of date, he's going to start using his TomTom instead. _________________ Andy
