The mention of Clove was actually in connection with SD cards. For SD, there's compatibility and performance issues with some common cards - Clove sell SimpleTech SD cards which are one of a handful of brands that don't seem ever to use problematic cards.

I suspect their CompactFlash cards (which also appear to be SimpleTech) are fine, too. CompactFlash doesn't seem to have the compatibility issues of SD.

Just one question - why do you want to use your CompactFlash slot for memory? On the whole, the SD slot is better used for memory, leaving the CompactFlash slot spare for various I/O peripherals (things like wireless LAN cards tend to be cheaper in the CompactFlash format - some add-ons, such as a 56K modem, are not available in SDIO).

However, if you want a big memory card to use for music files when you're not using the iPAQ for other tasks where you might want other gadgets in the CompactFlash slot, it makes sense to use a CompactFlash memory card, particularly as the larger sizes are affordable in CompactFlash. It can also make sense to use a 512MB or larger CompactFlash memory card with either a Bluetooth GPS or GPS mouse if you need a particularly large amount of map data (SD cards above 512MB do not appear to be commercially available at present, and 512MB SD cards are still in excess of 150 pounds).

Thanks for info Dave,at present i have TT2 maps on a sd memory card and that takes up most of my 128mb on that card, and i as i have a spare slot i might as well use it, and CF seems a lot cheaper.
