Posted: Fri Apr 13, 2007 2:47 pm Post subject: Start up Abort, Halted after Navman wed update |
|
|
Hi,
I'm new to this forum and would like a little help please.
After trying to install the update from Navman (which froze on me during the process) my icn 630 displays the following message on start up and will now not operate.
Message reads:
NAVMAN iCN 630. Application 3.50.1025 built on 2005-07-15 at 10:10:01 Abort, halted Execution address was 0x00018104
Can any one of you tech guys help me out please?
Thanks, Phil. |

Plug your Navman back in to Smartst and then run the 'Update Software On Icn' option. This will reattempt to install the software onto your device. _________________ Dom

Thanks for the info. I've tried that (V3 Application 3.50.1025) which proceeded to install, powered off the icn 630, then powered on but still get the Abort message as my initial post.
This is doing my brain in now.
Any other suggestions guys?
Cheers Phil. |

Hi Dom,
No points of interest loaded, i unloaded the drive 'A' & sd card, then reloaded only the SE England map to the icn, not the sd card.
I have all the original discs for this satnav and am registered with Navman. On my comp, i have installed SmartST 2005.
The icn, when swithched on will start with the SmartST screen, then you can see a breif flash of the loading of the maps the the Abort message appears.
Strange?
Thanks Phil. |

I don't know if you have tries this yet but download the update again and rerun the update icn option. use this (patcher80) to update your software.
If not I believe if you reinstall smartst on your pc then rerun the update icn option it will reinstall the standard icn software. Not 100% sure on that one though. _________________ Dom

The patcher80 gets as far as the int exp screen but shows a blank screen with no activity. check my firewall too but still nothing.
Is there a reset button on the icn630 which will reset it as it comes in the box? |

Unfortunatly with these types of devices when you upgrade them they stay upgraded untill you downgrade them again. So no factory reset.
If you have installed the app installer use that to get the software update.
or next step Uninstall smartst, then reinstall everything. _________________ Dom

Ok. Right then, i have:
1. whiped the A & B drives
2. Uninstalled & reinstalled SmartST
3. It informs me that the maps are registered with my icn.
So Far, So Good.
When i power up the unit, without the usb connected, the icn starts with the smartst screen then loads the startup screen @UK ENGLISH@
I can scroll through the various pages (tutorial) without any problems, but if i selct GO TO or MAP, the info screen says 'no map data available'
This is correct as I've whiped the A & B drives.
Now, I know that if I install say, SE England map onto the icn or icn SD card, I'll be back where I started with the abort warning.
So, I think it is a loading issue with the maps which is at fault.
I'll give Navman a call on Monday to see if they know what is wrong & let you know.
Thanks for all your time.

Okay. I've been onto Navman this morning and they are totally baffled with the fault code flagged. They were not much help apart from saying that my SD card was shot!
This is not the case as I've tried to load the maps to a brand new one after formatting it with SmartST & the fault code still appears.
Even loading maps onto the unit itself, the same error code appears.
I've now sent the unit to them so that they can pull it apart to suss out what the heck is the matter with it & I'll wait to see how much they will charge me before I let them go ahead.
I'll let you know the outcome once known.
