I have configured my route to work, so it gets me there the way I want to go.
How do I save this? So when I use traffic it will check this route not the way tom tom wants to send me.

Thanks Jim

Search for info on itineraries. See if that would suit.

Save it as an Itinerary. You don't need to enter you start point. The TT knows where you are.

And if you want to plan and save an itinerary starting from a point other than your current location, plan the itinerary in TomTom Home (having first set your current location as the point you want the itinerary to start from), then Save under Options.
I am going to France on Friday, and have saved several itineraries there using this method

To clarify my rather clumsy wording above....using TomTom Home you can simulate the current location to be anywhere you like. Set it to the desired start point of your itinerary, then use the simulated screen in TomTom Home to plan, and save, a route starting from that point. It will be saved in your device when you disconnect it from the PC, and you can load the saved itinerary when you reach the start point you used.

There is a programme called Tyre available Here

You can plan and save itineraries with this. It links into google map or earth (can't remember which) and works quite well.

Regards
