Hello,
I am wondering if anybody can help? I have an Ipaq 2210 with TomTom v.5.00, I have a GlobalSat BC-337, the GPS is plugged into my CF card slot and I can connect to satellite using the GPSinfo, how I cannot get the TomTom software to recognise my device. I have tried all the settings, with\without VTG and WAAS.

Welcome to the forum, make sure the GPS is set to output NMEA data type rather than SiRF, TomTom version 5 and 6 can only understand NMEA data protocol. I posted some instructions on how to switch the output mode of a GPS device which can be found Here
Make sure no other GPS related programs are running as they will hog the GPS port of the device preventing TomTom from finding the signal.
After that you will need to configure the GPS part of the TomTom application to use Other NMEA GPS Device, set the Baud speed (check the documentation to make sure you get that bit right) then select the Com port, it should be listed as GPS on SP2 or something similar.
Now take it outside and wait, it could take a while to achieve a position fix, keep an eye on the sat status page, firstly the little yellow/ blue disk top right should be revolving (if it isn't something is still set wrong), assuming it does spin, sit with the device and you should see grey bars, eventually they will turn blue when the position is fixed.
You should also consider upgrading the TomTom software to the latest version 5 i.e. 5,21 which is free and available from the TomTom web site - Mike
