Why do you need to do this? loading POI files don't consume vast amounts of memory and you are limited to the number of categories the device supports - 86 IIRC, there is little else you can load to the unit, so why remove voice files - Mike

Quicker to scroll countries list, without all the different language variants for, eg, "England" appearing.

If you have a device fitted with a Trans Flash memory card I would copy the contents to the PC as a back-up, then look in the folowing directory:
Garmin/ voice
Each of the displayed folders contain the voices, I would keep two installed as a minimum, sometimes it is easy to "fix" the i3 by selection of a different voice then selecting the one you want.

Not too sure what you can do if the device has the files stored on internal memory, and I would expect the device still to ask country when inputting a destination irrespective of the voice files loaded or not - Mike

Deleting the languages will not remove the countries. eg Cymraeg is not a langauge available on the I3, although you can chose some of the countries in Welsh. It is embedded in the software. If you go to the newest software it auto selects to England.
