HELP ARKON CRADLE/WIRED RECIEVER **NO GPS SIGNAL**

Desperate for some help with this on

My Equipment

ARKON CM700
HAICOM EVERMORE GM-R700 WIRED RECIEVER
IPAQ RZ1710
TOM TOM 6

My problem

No GPS Signal

What I have tried

Disabling the Infa Red as per a few posts on here.
Different Bauds and com ports

A couple of questions I have

Does i matter there is 6 connection on the RJ11 Plug on my wired reciever and only 4 contacts on my cradle even though they fit together correctly as they should. Its just the outer contacts that are not used.

How long really should I leave each baud setting to see if it works?

Has anyone got some settings that are guarenteed to work?
