Hi There,
Just a quick question if anyone knows, i have just replaced my old i3 which had an accident with a new i3. the new one does not have a memory card like the old one. I had upgraded the maps on the old unit to V9, the new unit says V9 is already installed will this be to the same detail level or a more basic version? when i tried to upgrade it authorised the unit but asked for a memory card.
Sorry if i'm being a dumb, i had just seen something on a usa site saying that only bigger roads on the inbuilt and rest on memory card????
Also any ideas on how to install the MaFt points of interest it says i dont have enough room?
Cheers

If the unit says the map is v9 then it should be the same - full level UK detail...
But if you're trying to upgrade maps on the internal memory of an i3 you need a patch available from Garmin customer support they'll email it to you. See my more detailed posts here
But if it already has v9 you shouldn't need to upgrade.
With POI's you'll find you can't load all of MaFt's because you are restricted by the amount of memory free in the i3...what I did was to extract them onto my hard drive and created a seperate folder to move the high priority ones that I wanted...transfered them to the i3 and then did the same thing again with some more slightly less crucial POI's until I couldn't load any more. _________________ Garmin i3

Alternatively you can load as many POI's as you want to a transflash card (via a card reader) and plug it in to the i3. _________________ Garmin i3 gone (sold on eBay)
