Hi
Can anyone help me!! I have just bought a map update for my tomtom Go original and is ready for download. But the tomtom home software on my computer is saying that the device is not registered to me (which it is!!). I have two tomtom's registered under my name as I have a tomtom one version 2 (my wifes), so the device code most recent is on for that one. Now when I change the device code back to my Go it won't let me as it says that you cannot change it for 6 months. I am not waiting for six months! Who do they think they are... Do they not think that you might have more than one device registered. They haven't thought this one through.
I hope someone can help me
Many thanks

Can't you just "change device" in TTHome to show your other unit? |

Tried that and it tells me the same thing and asks me to log out or create new user. I cannot change user as I bought the map under my account |

Did you buy this via TomTom Home? If so, it will be 'tied' to the device which was active at the time. TTHome needs each device to be registered under a different email address. _________________ Tim |

It's rather long winded (the TT way).
Go to Plus Services Page, http://www.tomtom.com/plus/index.php?Lid=1 and you will have to be logged in first, and Select Change my Device.
Change it back to the GO and when you Login with HOME it should work OK. You don't have to wait 6 months to do this. ;)
Each time you want to Update anything, you will have to switch back and forth. _________________ Richard

I bought the map via the Tom tom website not through TTHome. I logged in and purchased as a normal transaction. Then followed the instructions and installed TThome, plugged in my device then it said device not linked with my account. If I didn't buy the other Tomtom One version two everything would have been fine. If I knew this would happen I would have registered it with another email address. But saying that the TT website says you can add as many devices as you like, so whats the problem! They should make this clear to customers.
I did go in to change device code and it says I cannot do this as I have already registered in Feb 2007 with another device code. I'll have to contact customer services monday get it sorted out. My problem is that they may say I have bought it for the TT one V2, then I will say I didn't and bought it for TT Go original as requested on the website. They should be ok with this?
Thank you

We'll see what transpires. If you have to have more than one email address to use with more than one Device, then this should be made clear somewhere. _________________ Richard
