Arkon CM700 PDA Mount- HELP!-NO GPS DEVICE

I have recently purchased an Arkon CM700 Powered Mount and I am trying to use it with an Ipaq 6315 and Altina Wired GPS receiver running Tom Tom 6.I have connected the GPS using an Arkon rj12-PS2 cable (CA102). The PDA fails to see the GPS device.
I have switched off Beams and am trying to connect via Com Port 1 as per arkon instuctions.It will not work at 4800 or 19200 Baud.
Is the set up compatible?

I have been told that the Ipaq 6315 has no serial port.Bluetooth is my only option.
Will the PDA Mount work with an Ipaq 2210 ???
