I've just updated my 510 to 6. I have then downloaded the latest speedcameras from this site and copied them onto the unit, as per usual. However, I can't find any speedcameras in POI at all. I can see all other POIs no problem.

I have redownloaded them and reset the unit, but still no joy. Any ideas anyone?

cheers.

The update should say 6.524.

To add, you can see th e POI when using TT Home on the PC (368kb). So it's all there, just no visible on the unit for some reason.

Should I perhaps go back to 6.522?

How many POI files have you got installed on the device? - count up the number of POI's - if you have more than 100 Custom POI's thats your reason, you need to reduce the installed custom POI's to less than the limit - Mike

That may be possible then. I downloaded a load from here a short while a go.

I also can't find any police stations that I have as a POI (didn't find any ehwn searching for po (for the speed cameras)).

I'll delete some and see what I get.

cheers.

Conect the device to the PC, start Windows Explorer and open the map folder, make sure that in Tools/ Folder options _ View Tab the "Hide Extensions for known file types" is NOT selected, now if you sort by file type you can very quickly see how many ov2 (the POI files) there are installed - Mike

Don't forget you can merge two or more POI files into one big one (so instead of individual "Homebase", "Wickes", "B+Q" etc categories, you merge them into a single "DIY" category for example).
There are several utilities around that will let you do this...
POI Edit is just one.

or you can choose those from the PGPSW poi download area and get them merged as you download them ;)

Following with interest the debate about seeing cameras. I have just updated to latest version of the OS and also downloaded Home. Home seems to have interfered somewhere - alongside the the Western_Europe_Map folder appears one called Western Europe, and only by dropping OV2 and associated BMPs into the latter can I see them on the device: contrary to previous experience (and formal advice). Anyone else experienced similar?

I haven't experienced the same problem but it may depend on which map you have selected. It reads like you have 2 map folders and it is the latter folder's map that is currently selcted. Hence, it is why the cameras only appear to work when located in that folder.

If you have more than one map folder the speed cams need to be in both.

My thanks for both the preceding replies - clarified for me the need to delete a spurious folder created by Home (which seems a little less than robust on downloads, etc).
