I've just seen a new (to me) design of red-light camera on the eastbound A4 at Osterley (Junction with Syon Lane, next to the Shell Garage).
Very smart-looking, but rather sneakily the camera housing itself is painted yellow, but it is smaller than, and hidden behind the grey post!!

That's a new one on me, cheers Andy, I'll see if I can discover who makes that, nasty _________________ Darren Griffin |

Actually, it was easy-peasy. As I said, it's right next to a petrol station forecourt.
Pulled in, parked up, walked 10 yards, had a chat with the man filling up who wondered what on earth I was doing!
Then bought a bar of choc as a reward for all my hard work |

Aaaaahh. What a lovely soft sunset glow he's given it. Do you do photography as well as mixing Andy? Weddings? Bar Mitzvahs? Ho Downs? _________________ Dennis

sneaky beggars... i bet they used 'health and safety' for the reason the yellow bit is hidden - you know, it's not sticking out the side so people can't bang there heads on it (as opposed to people won't see it so we'll get more £$€) |

| I believe the junction is also known as Gillette corner. Has this just gone up? I find it difficult to believe, given how few days a year that I'm in london, that I was "lucky" enough to spot this on the same day as you (Actually, I've just looked at the time that you posted, and, I think I might have seen it first!).
I didn't see any road markings. _________________ Jock

I'm just down the road from it! might go and have a look at it in a mo.
Shape's probably for aero dynamics as it gets pretty windy with all that traffic, mainly to solve camera shake.
You know about camera shake don't you, Andy! :D _________________ Dom

Poletech manufacture the socket that the pole mounts into. I think the other cast wording reads 'CROWN UK BRISTOL ENGLAND' but I haven't been able to find any matches for them yet. _________________ Darren Griffin |

Well it's all down to the quality of my equipment!
I find I can capture the exquisite nuances of the scene best with the exclusive use of:
1 Nokia phone, complete with
1 grubby lens
('cos its been in my pocket for months with nothing more than a rub with my thumb whenever I look at it and think "I wonder how that survives being totally unprotected in my pocket all the time?") 8) |

What a let-down. I was sure you had used the professional's trick of a tiny smear of vaseline around the edge of the lens. _________________ Dennis

at least they've painted some of yellow. In Manchester they're dark green!! Very hard to spot!!
Thank god for the pocketgps camera database. (Do I get a free month for the praise) _________________ Paul
