|
|
Hi - am running TT5.2 on an Ipaq1940. Have purchased upgraded maps (to version 6) from TomTom site. When I log into My TomTom - I can see them in the 'purchased bit' but there is no download link (only instructions on how to use TomTom Home, which I thought couln't be used with TT5.2). When I do try TT Home, I cannot log in as it tells me that device connected is not associated with TomTom account. Somehow, after fiddling around, I've managed to install the new TT6 software on my SD card (using a card reader) and after putting SD card into Ipaq - can launch TT6 - but no maps found (since I could not download them in the first place). Can anyone tell me how to download the maps I've purchased using a card reader (have to do this as I run Vista on the PC). Problem is I can't log with my resgistered email / passoword as the device is not associated with my account for some reason - and therefore the maps cannot be 'seen'.[/i] |

When I purchased my Western Europe Map using TTN5, I was able to download directly from TomTom's website. Under "My PLUS Services" in "My Maps" the map is there with it's product code etc, telling me I can download it until next January, and in red "Download Installer". Clicking on that started the download for me.
Just to warn you, mine took about 4 hours to download the Western Europe Map. Also if you have a programme like "ONSPEED" then disable it first. I tried to download mine many times and it kept failing while I had it turned on.
If you can't do it that way, it might be worth seeing if you can change your order and get it from TomTom on disc.
I had the 'device connected to your computer is not associated with this account' message and I think, from memory, that you have to activate TT6 before you can use TTHOME.
Hope that helps. If not then you could try emailing TomTom support, although they do take a few days to answer.
By the way, there have been some problems with TTHOME version 1.5. If you want to try the old version 1.3 It's on Oldboy's updates page. This should take you straight to it: http://myweb.tiscali.co.uk/oldboy/TomTomUpdates/HOME1.3_308.exe _________________ TT Go Essential |

Have a look at the thread entitled "Install of new UK&I map on TTN5" there's a lot of stuff relating to your problem _________________ TT Go Essential |

I can see the maps on My TomTom - but there's no download installer link - just instructions for using TT Home. When I try and log in with TT Home to check for updates - it tells me that device is not associated with the account. I have 'installed' TT6 onto my PDA (but no maps found) but don't know how to activate this (it comes out of it as soon as it can't find any maps). I've also changed my device on 'My TomTom' to TT6, but still can't get round the device not associated with account message. I have written to TomTom and am awaiting a reply. |

Think it's sorted. The earlier version of TT Home has helped - can now pick up map files and install - think it's just a matter of activating now. The problem was probably an interaction of TT Home, Vista and having to update the memory card through a reader rather than from the PDA synchronisation. Thanks for all your help and especially the earlier version of TT Home. |

Yep - that's it. Activated the maps and even downloaded the latest version of TT6 (ver 6.03). Seems to be working OK but a bit slower screen refreshes than TT5 - but not unusable. Thanks again everyone - esp Calomax. |

Hi,
I bought TT6 + Western Europe last week via download to upgrade my TT5+GB and had exactly the same issue (Device not associated with the account)
Spent 3 days trying to solve the problem with no success then found your posting. Version 1.3 of Home did the trick without any problems.
Thanks again, you are a star.
Incidentally I logged the issue with TomTom support and I've had no reply, do you think they are working on 1.6? :D |

They told me they are working on it and to continue using version 1.3. Said to email them in about a month to see if the problems had been resolved.
If you look at the threads in my earlier posting you'll see more info about all that. _________________ TT Go Essential |
