|
|
Hi folks, newbie here
Quick intro (IMO it's rude to ask for help without first introducing myself! ): I'm Ally, drive a Honda Civic, bought a Garmin i3 back in October last year, have sucessfully updated my mapping, and am just starting to play around with POIs and speed camera POIs.
OK, I've got a slight problem now: I'm October I successfully loaded my own POIs onto my unit - work fine. But last night I subscribed to PGPSW and downloaded the csv files for the speed camera database. I've managed to get these loaded onto my Garmin, finally - at first I was trying to load them by just plugging the USB cable directly into the Garmin unit, but kept on getting the message that there wasn't enough space on it to load them all.
I've since successfully managed to load all of them using a card reader and adaptor for the micro SD card, but here's my problem:
Now when I search through my Custom Points on the menu on the Garmin unit, all of the original POIs that I loaded back in October are there, but so are the same POIs that I loaded tonight along with the speed camera POIs. How can I remove this duplication? I can't figure it out how!!!
Any help much appreciated.
Thanks

if you use the beta version of poi loader then you get an option to remove currently installed poi's: http://www.garmin.com/support/download_details.jsp?id=1673
obviously make sure you plug the usb lead into the i3 and not to your card reader else you will remove the wrong ones!

Didn't realise there was the Beta version of the POI loader! That certainly made things easy. Successfully removed all the old POIs and I'm going to start again with them.
Thanks very much for your help.

it's a beta, they kept it fairly well hidden in my opinion! it has some nice additions such as sub-categories (doesn't work on the i3 though ) but it seems to be taking them forever to release a proper version of it!

?? It's on the webpage for all i3 downloads. Not really "fairly well hidden". |

considering they recommend that everyone uses the web updater tool and this never alerts you to the beta's existence, i stand by my original statement :D |
