I think my (replacement) has it.

The reason I say this is that it is now registering 7 or 8 sats (sometimes 9) on a regular basis. Previously it had 4 or 5.

One thing I have noticed is that the Tom Tom 2 distances are best halved
e.g. when it says "Turn left in 200 yards", you should read it as 100! Smile

Not a massive flaw unless ur in a major city with roads everywhere I guess.

I am a newbie at all this though so may be wrong.

You can tell if you have the latest firmware when you try to pair the PDA with the GPS. The updated version does not need a passkey.

There is no problem with your receiver or TomTom. The distances are from your current position to the far point of the turn, not where you actually exit. This is a feature of the map data.

Hmm can't remember but I "think" i had to passkey to pair.

Maybe it is the "old" version. The main thing is it actually works!

This morning was very poor. I could only pick up 3 satellites at first and with 3 the fix is very very weak (at least 400 yards out).

It did redeem itself eventually but not great when it tells u to go the wrong way!!

The moral of the story seems to be to ignore TT when u have less than 4 locked sats.

Mine asks for passkey, and mine always hangs with Tomtom, so I asked Rikaline support how I could get the firmware upgrade.

I got the rather terse reply "The latest receiver does
have a pin code the information on Pocketgps is old information".

*confused*
