hi guys, just wondered if anybody knew if the plug for the gpsmap (the 9 pin one) is available from RS or Maplin and has a part number as it seams stupid to spend £20 on full lead kit and then chop off the plug ( as this is going to be hard wired into a vehicle loom)

thanks
Jenna

Which GPSmap unit are we talking about here? There are many - some have mini-USB for power supply for example.

Guess I should explain a bit more...

We have just bought a 152xl (but the fitting is the same on all GPSmap units ..162,180 etc) and want to connect this up to a vhf/uhf radio making use of the Nmea. Its purpose is to use the gps as both a gps but also a source for APRS (radio tracking) in a selection of vehicles that are being sent abroad to teach 'desert driving'.

I can buy a lead that has both power and Nmea of Garmin but they are £20+ and as I have 6 six vehicles to fit out that’s going to cost me £120 for just 6 tiny plastic plugs that probably only cost a £1 in total.

Hope that makes it a little clearer what I am looking for.

thanks
jen
