What is the diffrence between a mapping and non mapping gps and which is better? Thanks

Hmmm. Where have you read that? Maybe they mean the difference between just showing the coordinates and displaying your location on a map? Only the very cheapo (sort of) handheld receivers do not display your location on maps. Remember the Casio GPS watch ;-)
