Streetpilot i3 - No maps on unit!!

I bought an i3 second hand and problems with the unit freezing, I was advised by a friend to reset the unit, so i did that only to find that the map data needs to be reinstalled.

The problem i have is that i didnt get any codes, dvd's etc with this unit so am pretty lost on what to do, i cant find any map data off the Garmin website.

Is it R.I.P. for my streetpilot or can anyone suggest a way of fixing it.

When you say "a full reset", I presume you mean pressing all three controls, in the manner as outlined on other posts, and confirming the reset message? If this is what you did, you shouldn't lose the maps, just the additional data that has been entered on the unit, such as Recent Finds and My Favourite Locations. Or have you done something else to reset it, like hit it with a hammer?
