Unless the Sony came with its own version of the Desktop application, including POIEditor, it's unlikely that you can upload custom POIs to this particular Sony PND.

Not really. I've only ever seen them in shops. They are, as you say, a rebadged Navman iCN650 and are discontinued with no updates, as far as I'm aware.

Again, you'd need either an update from Sony or a way of importing Custom POIs to do this on that unit.

Are you sure it will only let you transfer 99? It may only show 99 but might do more. Can you tell me what you're using to transfer the files? I assume they are .asc or .csv files?

i am using nvx p1 desk top this is the software that comes with it the sony seems to be a very good unit just long winded to do things on not like a tomtom as i am getting a bit sick of it now so if i was to buy a new sat nav is tomtom 910 better than a nuvi 660
thanks john
the software is just like the navman desk top if that helps

Understand on the Desktop software being long winded. Same here. Did the software come with the unit or did you get it from an IT person?

GO910 is really easy to use. Drag 'n' Drop Custom POIs into the relevant map directory, enable the POIs and off you go. Custom sound warnings are relatively easy, too.

Not sure about the Garmin 660 but I do like Garmins and have a GPS V and the PPC software, too. I reviewed a StreetPilot 2820 not long ago and found it easy to use, though.

Oh, others said that no software came with theirs. Which Camera DB did you load? The 24 file speed-zoned one should allow the use of their corresponding bitmap files.

hi speed cams loaded were single file ones as the speed zone ones would have to be loaded one at a time as you can only have one bmp fileper camm so you would have to load the 60 mph cam asc file with the bmp 60 mph so it would match up
i think you do any way not sure but you can only load 1 bmp file with each asc file hope you no what i mean

I think so. You can have one .bmp per POI file, so if you use the single file you can only have one .bmp. If you use the 24 files, you can have the speed bmp files, too. Yes, it takes longer to load them but it's worth it.
