TT910 iPod fast forward on remote control

Does anyone know if it is possible to fast forward an audio track on an iPod (or a native MP3 on the 910 for that matter) by using the remote control. You can do it on the 910 itself by holding the right arrow down. The problem with that is two fold. Firstly, I listen to podcasts and if your finger momentarily jumps because of a bump in the road the thing jumps to the next whole file. Secondly, it is much easier and therefore safer to operate the remote control which can be done by touch rather than looking down at the TT itself.
