Go 710 Cancelling a route

I'm sure this is unfamiliarity on my part, but, for whatever reason, if I haven't finished a route when I turn the 710 off, when I turn back on perhaps just to use the hands free whilst driving to a new destination that I don't need help with, the unit tries to finish the last destination and of course insists on telling me to turn around etc etc. All I'm asking is if there is a way of cancelling a route once entered as a destination?

Welcome to the forum, there is a Clear Route icon but IF you have the "Show Fewer menu options" selected this icon is not available for selection. To rectify this simply go to Change Preferences/ Show ALL menu options, tap continue and the clear route icon will be made available for you to use - Mike
