From searching for "disabled AND parking AND POI" you would find only this thread I fear, which is rather old now. From past and recent experience (ex council highways dept), I think the size of such a POI database might defeat even the most ardent compiler. You'd think councils would put such info on their websites and also offer it in some format which could be easily converted for your purpose. I'm e-mailing my brother (disabled) to see if he knows anything. _________________ Dennis

Disabled parking POIs can be found on this sites database and at www.poihandler.com, both do not contain a lot of entries depending on area wanted, this sites entries seem to have slowed down. |

Depends on what you want, in my opinion most sites have good and bad points. suggest you download PoiEdit which gives direct access to a few sites both uk and abroad and you can download a maps to see locations of POIs, there is also various other sites that offer POIs, search google, different sites offer different amounts of information, I note that pgps disabled parking has increased since my last posting, but bearing in mind that the pgps site is still a fledgling site and can only improve with the support of its members |

I've started to create one from scratch, starting with the City (of London) but hoping to expand it as time goes by. I'm hoping I can get lat/lon positions from direct.gov.uk or whatever the use to feed their maps with data that I can just convert-otherwise its just going to be a labour of love for a few months (years!!) (P.S. I'm disabled, hence creating one I can use myself). Once I've got something decent, I'll post it here + on poihandler.com and anywhere else useful. |
