|
|
Hi
I've had my nuvi 310 for about 7 months now, and the one thing that annoys me more than anything is the problems i have finding addresses when searching for street names.
Can anyone with the same device confirm that this problem is specific to my unit and not across the board??
Here is an example of the issue -
do the following;
where to ~ address ~ england ~ search all ~ (enter 1 for house number)~ done ~ (enter manchester square)
with my unit, as soon as I've pressed the 's' of 'square' it goes to another page with 2 options;
Manchester (Bridge, Close...)
Manchester Street Roundabout
So, I press the first one (obviously!), and wait 10 secs for the search results. It only returns 8 search results - NONE OF WHICH ARE LONDON.
Manchester Square is in W1 in London - and trust me it isn;t a new street - its been there for hundreds of years.
This has happened so many times when searching for streets but I can;t think of any more examples off the top of my head.
I would be very grateful if anyone could shed any light on this.
Thanks in advance,

This down to how you are entering the data try the following:
Spell City/ Postal Code, enter W1 Done
Select W1, London
Enter House number 1 Done
Now enter Manc And select Manchester when it appears.
Next select the correct one from the list - Mike |

thanks for your help on this Mike.
So are you saying that my unit is behaving like it should?
What happens if you don't know the post code? |

If your not sure of the number use 0, in your example it works ok. If you don't know the postcode enter the city/town first, this will cut down the search size. _________________ Samsung Mega
