TT5 or 6 on Palm Lifedrive

As a long-term TT user, I recently took up the update offer of the UK and Major Roads of Europe maps, but stuck with version 5 as the Lifedrive is not on the supported list of TT6 devices. I am now aware that a number of users are successfully running v6 on the Lifedrive.

So, I have 2 questions:

1 Would I be advised to change to v6? The maps are the same, but I am interested to know if the new version works better/runs faster/runs slower/looks better but runs worse (delete as appropriate!)

2 If I do change, can I simply go back to TT and redownload the v6 from the download section of the site and install by SD card as others have done?
