Navman 510/520 2006 maps released

Just checked on the Navman website/shop and it looks like the new maps are now available BUT no software update. SP later??? We can but hope.

There is no mention of what the update actually provides, apart from "latest maps".
I would therefore (at some risk) assume that it will not provide full postcode searching, as I believe a software update was required to get that.

The price (£99) reinforces my view that you would be better to ebay your 510/20 and buy a later model. After all if you get £50 for you 510, you have the latest F series with SiRFIII and latest maps and software for the price of the map upgrade. The other way to look at it, for £50 you get a second unit to keep her indoors happy while you get the latest toy::

Upgrading seems really silly to me
