|

I have the IPAQ RZ1710 in a Kirrio cradle. I have no problems with it now that I've increased the SD Card memory capacity. :D
What i do have a is aproblem with the cradle, I have lost the suction cap that screws into the bottom and sticks it to the windscreen. I have hunted high and low and narrowly missed out on the only one i've saeen on EBAY.
Can someone PLEASE point me in the direction of where i can buy a replacement cradle in whole, or just the suction cap from the bottom?????
I am a desperate and nearly broken man. I am constantly watching my whole system sliding all around my dashboard!!!!!!! HELP!!!!! |

My problem is slightly different my RX1950 can not see the GPS in the Kirrio. The blue light flashes as VM starts up so GPS is started correctly, but no sign of GPS link from Either version 4 of VM or 5.0.10 (Build 201). I also believe the blue light stops flashing when GPS is locked on.
As charging works and GPS is triggered, I believe I have an issue with the PDA port for reading the GPS or the GPS itself, not the whole connection.
Now as the Cradle is a little cheaper than the PDA I would like to try another Cradle to see if the Cradle is broken.
If it was broken getting the bits to Bristol would not be a problem, solving andrewmagor issue. But if I had no luck I would probably need to send the whole lot back for repair.
Net result I need a Kirrio as well at least temporarily.
Andrew have you tried asking Michelin? |

SpikeyMikey thanks.
I do not think I will follow that PDAMODS up until Michelin have failed me as this looks like 30 + 50 as Kirrio include GPS.
The Kirrio @ nomoremaps looks more interesting, but 76 include software, although it says it is free I think it may be reflected in the price. It would be only 175 for a new rx1950 GPS. Then I could really delouse the connection issue and just try to get three figures for the old one on ebay not forgetting to send a bit to Bristol.
Guess I need to get saving! |

I have managed to get VM to work on my RX1950 with a new mount an Rj11 PS2 lead (like this on ebay #130159603117) and a wired GPS receiver.
This is not as tidy as the original mount, It works about as well at present. I hope to get improvements when I find a way to tidy up the none installation.
Any one want a Kirio mount for spares? I bet Michelin take months to tell me if it is economically repairable? |
