|
|
I have recently purchased a P550 having had my Mio A201 stolen. I have TTN6 loaded with numerous other software items including Memory Map. It seems that most days I have to perform a soft reset to enable me to switch on the device for whatever reason, when it comes back to life the battery is substantially drained compared to before. This gives me the impression something is making an internal demand on a particular resource.
I never experienced this on my A201 or 168 before that. The P550 is impressive with Wifi etc but doesnt appear as 'solid' as the A201. The on off button is very sensitive and sometimes require two or three attempts to switch on or off. Overall, other than the Wifi aspect I rate the A201 better.
Has any one any thoughts that might stop the soft resetting situation.
Thanks

In addition to the above - I have installed the power patch that has been mentioned in other posts.
If this helps

ActiveSync can start up on it's own even if you haven't connected to your desktop. Do the following.
Start your P350/P550.
Go to Start – Programs – Activesync.
Tap on Menu then Add Server Source’
Enter 1, 1, 1, 1 as the server.
User a
Password b
Domain c
Next uncheck the boxes
End.
Now go back to Menu – Schedule and use the two sliders to select each as Manual
OK
Now go to Activesync - Options, where you can delete the Server you’ve just added. It will now keep the Manual settings.
You will still be able to use Activesync in the normal way but you’ll find it no longer auto-starts when it’s left alone, thereby saving some battery power.
Mio recommend a ‘top-up’ at least once per week. _________________ Formerly known as Lost_Property

Thanks Lost Property - I have done as your post. I did notice prevously that when viewing running programmes, active sync was often showing.
I use SPB plus which is supposed to shut all programmes down. This may help with the battery life but I suspect, after reading of similar problems it is a fault within the P550. I would send it back, but, again after reading the forums this appears to land in a big pile at Mio with long turnarounds.
Thanks for your reply.

3 days later - all still fine. Not one false start since applying fix as stated by Lost Property |
