Can you tell me how to do this please. I can't find any ov2 files on my sd so not sure where I should copy the POIs downloaded from this site. Help appreciated. Thanks. |

ov2 files AND the matching .bmp files (the picture icon) both go into your map folder -(The one called "Great_Britain-Map" or "Western Europe" or "UK_and_IE_plus_major_roads_of_WE" or whatever).
Then just enable them in the TomTom menu. |

Thanks for your help Andy. I've got the POIs to work now.
If others would be interested in more details on how to do this you might like to take a look at:

Glad you got it sorted!
Hmm... quite a few inaccuracies in that walkthrough (For example: "There are lots of files in the ZIP file (over 220)").
What's wrong with the ones from here? (Go910 intallation instructions for example). |

Nothing wrong with the example walkthrough you provided a link to. When I asked the question originally I was unaware of both the walkthroughs which was why I saught help from the forum. Perhaps I just had not looked hard enough, but good that help was available quickly from this forum - thanks again to Andy.
Perhaps it would be a good idea to put a link to the walkthrough on the download page so that inexperienced users like me can find instructions on how to include the POIs. Keep up the good work. |

Keep up the good work. | On the download page, immediately below the drop down box where you choose you SatNav system, there is a link to [Installation Instructions] which takes you to instructions for every supported SatNav system. I can't see how it can be made any easier for 1st time visitors, but please let us know if you have any suggestions! _________________ Jock

I think the problem is that I started at the download POI page rather than that for speed cameras. Don't think there is a reference to how to load POIs on POI download page which was why I was having problems.
The problem I had was that as a beginner I was expecting the TomTom supplied POIs to also be ov2 files and when I could not find any I was not sure were to put the ones I'd downloaded from this site.
Agree the links on the speed camera page are good and very comprehensive - I should have started there.
Help was quickly at hand through this forum which got me sorted out in no time. Thanks for the help. |
