hi all
I have an Autoroute2001 file of about 2700 small caravan sites I wish to be able to view these on my pda as POI. the only way I can get any ref from it is to click the match button but only one at a time
It is xls and is an overlay type can this be converted to run on my 2210 with TTN2
and if so how?
Thanks in advance |

Hi Marshall
Can't help you with any technical stuff between POI's and Autoroute.
You don't say if the site collection is a personal one of commercial sites or not. But if you are interested in Camping and Caravanning Club and/or Camping Club sites then I would recommend that you visit www.jollyinteresting .co.uk. There are downloads for various editions of Autoroute and also TomTom.
Hope this helps

Hi arturus
Thanks for your reply
The sites I have are all the small sites of Great Britain of the caravan club
of which I am a member.
I have them all on my laptop but can,t seem to get them on my pda
Still I,ll keep on searching for a solution

Marshall,
Does your file contain the coordinates of the caravan sites. If it does, then you could export the relevant data to a comma separated file and run a conversion program on it to create a TTN overlay.

Hi Marshall
The downloads/overlays I have mentioned are for all the small sites and all the club sites of both clubs. Could save you a lot of hassle--and they are very up to date.

Marshall,
I have just had a look at the site that arturus mentioned and it has TomTom POI downloads. Arturus is right, it will save you a lot of hassle to use those POI files as getting Pushpins out of AutoRoute is very messy and if you are using AR2002 or 2003 then the coordinates extracted are not accurate.
For your information (and to save you tearing your hair out) you have to do the following to get a .psp file. In AutoRoute use the Select tool to put a box around the area of map containing the pushpins that you want to export to the psp file. Do not click within the area. Next go to the File menu and select Export Map for Pocket Streets... (this item is only active when a box is showing around an area of the map). Following the instructions will create two files which normally you would transfer to a Pocket PC. My conversion program only requires the psp file to extract the data for TTN.
