I scared myself silly yesterday when driving to work. I got the warning about the mobile unit position on the Staines bypass, and sure enough it was there.
Down the road towards Heathrow, going a bit faster now, and there was another camera van with the speed camera logo on the back. This one though was a number plate recognision van as further down the road the police were pulling over un-taxed van/cars.
Gave me a fright though and luckily I wasn't speeding anyway.
What do you think, should we have a catagory for these mobile units?

Definitely not!
The more tax dodgers that get caught the better, especially as most of them won't have insurance or MOT either.

Yes I agree that Tax/Insurance and no MOT dodgers should get caught but my point is that this mobile unit could have been a speed camera van as it almost looks the same.
Shouldn't we have a warning for these just in case one day, in the same location IT IS a speed camera?

Are you just saying is that this is a prime position for a mobile camera van?
If so, then once someone sees one there, it will get added to the existing Mobile database category. |
