reformat the SD card and then restore the backup you have made immediately after purchasing the device. _________________ Lutz

What Lutz says is good stuff, maybe you didn't do it right?
Another thought - press the reset button. Sometimes a "short" press will do, sometimes a longer (10 - 20 - 30 second) press is needed.
Another thought - try using a different SD card - new one, simply stick it in the unit and do the restore.
Another thought - try going back to the shop where you bought it and test their after sales service less than 24 hours after you bought it. _________________ Dennis

Hi, what ever I did I must have corrupted the SD Card as when used friends card Tomtom fired up ok so just copied his software. Bought 2gig card and now got software on this keeping original card safe as hard backup. |

Did you copy his entire card contents? If so, you are now using his maps, which 1. breaks the licence agreement and 2. means whenever one of you uses the activation code for that map it will lock the other out of any future upgrades.
Better to get it sorted out properly. Can you copy your own map folder across from the original card? |

Hi, Yes Andy_P2002 you are correct but as I wasen't going anywhere near a store when I wanted to try out the unit I copied them for the weekend. But since then I have taken my unit back and got replacement saying it wasen't working. I also bought a 2 gig card as orginal was all but full with no real room for upgrades.
Does anyone know why TomTom don't supply the software on CD?
