Had a bit of an odd one over the weekend which has puzzled me since. I have a T Mobile MDA/Vario, (not bad, if only it was 2/3 times faster.)
It has CoPilot as supplied with the phone, which I personally don't like and rarely use, and TT6 which I paid for when it was released last year...far superior IMHO.
While walking around the shops in Leeds, the phone went a couple of times and I made a couple of calls...by the time I got back to the car, the battery was warning me to get it charged...it wasn't flat but around 10% of its charge.
On trying to power up TT ..'no map' was displayed...likewise my emergency CoPilot had completely disappeared. Going into File Explorer and checking the storage card, sure enough the maps had gone, although there were still some programs on the card.
My question is , how could this have happened as I obviously didn't deliberately or accidently delete them ? Could it have been the security sensors that the shops use ?
Getting home, I did a backup from TT Home and all is well again, but it's a little nerve wracking to think that it might happen again.

When the battery gets low some Pocket PCs shut down external slots like the SD card slot or WiFi receivers etc. if the SD card had open files while being removed from power this _may_ result in corruption.

When you know the power will run out you should put the device into standby and then remove the SD card.
