Hi All,

Can anybody please help me with a BM6380 decision?

I have BlueMedia BM6380 (its my second - first replaced by Evesham). On both I have experienced failure to switch on after switching off and I suspect there may be a fundamental design problem. Evesham say they have no stocks for 4 weeks and have offered to replace it with the newly launched Nav-Cam 7000. I'm worried! Does anybody know whats going on?

Why sell two competing products? Is the BM6380 now dead because it has problems and should I accept their offer? Does the Nav-Cam 7000 have problems? Does anybody have GOOD experiences with these devices?

Regards

I'd be interested to know what happened on this. I had a BM6380 and it too was virtually useless as was the replacement supplied by Evesham. There did seem to be a problem with the batteries. Leaving it on charge or putting it away fully charged were the options but neither seemed to result in the unit being ready to go. It was very slow picking up satellites and this persisted with the addition of an external antenna. Evesham seem to stick with SirffStar II which not the best technology available. The Destinator software was disappointing but most of the time the BM6380 got left at home.

After I pointed out to Evesham the growing number of negative reviews from users on their own website they discontinued the version with the UK maps and shortly after the model with European maps also disappeared. It was amazing that they welcomed comment, but failed to act on negative feedback. Evesham have a good reputation on computers and I've been tempted by their TVs but I would never buy one of ther sat navs again.
