We have two Tomtoms in the household. Go 300, Go 510
Is it possible to use the Sd card from the 510 with the 300?
I'm asking this because the 510 needs repairing, and i still need the use of a satnav for work purposes. The 510 having safety camera alerts installed on the card, whereas the 300 does not. |

Try it and see. It will possibly ask for your activation code, but if both cards are original TomTom ones, in all probability it will work fine straight away.
You could also just copy all the camera files across to the 300's card (either using a card reader or using the 300 as one).
If they are the PGPSW camera files the licence allows you to put them on a close family member's device too. Don't know about the legality for TT ones but in this situation I don't think they would get too upset anyway! |

Yeah both cards are original tomtom cards, which came in the boxes as part of the packages.
The Go 510 came with camera alerts pre-installed.
We have both activation codes.
Thanks for the help.
I'll give it a go and see what happens. |

I have a TT300 and TT500, and the TT500 SD card appears to work perfectly well in the TT300.
Haven't tried it the other way round. But I don't see why that shouldn't either. _________________ Tom Tom Go 500/300 (both) v7.903

Sounds like your camera database could be a bit out of date, or have you been updating it via TomTom? _________________ Regards

The Go510 was bought quite recently, But the Go300 was bought as a secondhand unit.
The Go300 had only been used a couple of times and had not been updated in any way since new.
When I used the TomTom site to check for updates it was found to have version 5.2 on the card I think.
Now I need to use the Go300 for work purposes, but would like to have the camera alerts on it if possible.
As I only need to use the Go300 until I get the Go510 back, it would make sense to make use of Go510 card with the camera alerts already on if this is possible. |

Tried the card from the Go510 in the Go300.
It seemed to work fine, but when I tried to access the safety cameras it didn't or couldn't find them.
Anyone have any ideas as to why that might happen? |
