Latest Western Europe map

When I plan a route with the new Western Europe map Vs660.1219, on my TTG 700, it shows motorway signs in View-Browse as images, but not whilst driving the planned route, my friend who has the latest UK map sees these signs all the time. My question is, have I a faulty download or does the W.Euro map not show these signs. TomTom support tell me to re-download but seeing as I used a Promotion it won't let me download again. One more question where does the POI details get saved ie when you set them up to Warn when near?
