|
|
Hi, the subject software upgrade has just been issued by alk as necessary to make the 'live' aspect of Copilot function. It has also rendered all downloaded speed camera data inoperative ON CoPilot6 devices. We are now told to rename PocketGPS_uk_sc.ov2 to safetycamera.ov2 and the same with the .bpm file and reload into the Storage Card Save directory. Does anyone know if this means a single folder with all the sub files included (specs, mobile, gatso etc etc) or can each sub file be renamed to....safetycamera.ov2 etc? Rgds Keith |

To simplify the process just do the following:
Chose which download you want (single file or all 24 of them - your choice)
Unzip
Rename each and every file so that the pocketgps_ part is replaced with safetycamera_ (the remainder of the filename should remain as before)
Go to the StorageCard\CoPilot\SAVE directory and delete ALL the files starting AOPOI (upper or lower case) then copy your renamed files to this directory
Launch CoPilot and the cameras will (should!) be incorporated. |

Hi
Rather than a new thread i figured i could get my answer here. Followed the above and i do get camera warnings. However they dont tell me the camera speed. It was the 24 seperate files i used. The defalt copilot camera warnings displayed the speed
Another thing is how the camera is displayed. I get a yellow box in bottom left, but nothing on actual map. Is this normal, as it doesnt seem to make use of the bitmaps in the download?

I was begining to wonder that myself.
Its the version i got with my O2 XDA Orbit.
Regarding no icons, i had show POIs in map options off
So now its on and with Display POIs set to:
Default; 3 little icons (Suggests more than one set of icons?)
Imported; Mixture of 3 dots and white images
All; Mixture of 3 dots and white images
All the images from the zip are .bmp. I tried removing the safetycamera_uk_*.bmp files from the program files on the phone and the white images disappeared on restart of pocket pc. Now there a non images. Put them back on and the white images are back. |

Ok, changing the images to 24 bit means the will display as required. 8 bit is just a white box.
The only wierd thing is when you scroll the map manually the cameras sometimes disappear.
If you zoom out too far and there are cameras very near to each other then you get the 3 small boxes instead of the camera image.
This might be of help to someone. |

Neil, thank you for response to item 1 - it all worked. I have a supplementary question now. Why does the lovely lady who advises "Safety Camera Ahead" from the selected range of 500 yards keep repeating herself to the extent that you want to throw the MDA Vario out of the window? I just want one verbal warning but the alk software is not as user friendly as the Tomtom version in this respect. It seems to be 'enabled' or 'disabled' and that's it.

The multiple safetycamera warnings have been discussed in This thread.
It's a problem with the latest patch. |
