|
|
Morning! And seasons greetings to you all.
Santa bought TomTom6 for me with the complete Western Europe map. I have a few questions please.. (Did search but could not see a fit to my queries)
1) I only really need GB, France and Benelux - is there anyway I can split the WE map into these 3 countries?
1a) If the above is not possible, are there any files I can safely delete to create just a bit of space for POI's etc?
2) Coming from TomTom 5, I have seperate .cfg files for GB and France - I notice that WE has just the one. is there anyway I can combine the two .cfg files?
2a) Again, if the above is not possible how do I convert from Favourites to a POI?
Many thanks for your help |

If you have the Maps on DVD then you have the option to install what you want in terms of full Europe or per Country with the Plus option against some countries for Major Roads Of Europe. If your product is on memory card then you cannt alter this to load specific counties, you will have to leave it alone.
How full is the card? I would look at the voices installed, if there is a full set this will consume a large ammount of space, do you need any voice other than the UK ones?
Before you delete or remove anything from your card :
PLEASE BACK IT UP TO THE PC BEFORE MODIFYING ANYTHING.
Please have a read of THIS for a few ideas with your cfg file(s), which ever cfg is the largest you can copy re-name as per my post, for the remaining cfg files convert them to POI and port accross to the new card using the method in the second post - Mike |

Thanks for the fast response! Most helpful
If I only want to keep the Jane/UK voices, what numbers should I leave alone? |

The Jane voice is data05.chk and data05.vif both these files need to be in place for the voice to work. To find out which files are which open the dataXX.vif file in Note Pad where its country and name will be open to see.
Copy the whole lot to your PC before removing the files, this way you can allways put them back later if need be - Mike |
