Couldnt be more of a beginner

Hi everyone I am probably the step behind beginner as I havent even got that far yet.

I got a Dell Axim for xmas and would like to have GPS on it.

I have a Vauxhall Corsa (which I'm told can sometimes course signal blockages) I would like to be able to use the GPS when not in the car as well though.

I dont ahve bluetooth on my Axim but that could be an option if neccessary

Does your Axim have two slots for memory cards then? SD and CF? One of the problems when selecting a solution is that you always need to keep one slot availaible for the memory card that holds the maps.

So if your Axim has only one slot, and no bluetooth, then you cannot use a bluetooth card because it would block the slot.

So for in-car use you could actually use a serial GPS receiver that plugs into the bottom of your Axim (instead of the cradle). But this is not too helpful for out-of-car use, because the serial receiver gets powered by the cigarette adapter - BlueTooth receivers all come with a rechargeable battery.

So - what's your machine like? One or two slots?
