|
|
Hi Guys,
I've just downloaded the new Western Map for my GO510. I've installed it through HOME but are having problems with the 'new' GB Postal Codes file.
Upon investigation I appear to have 2 GB Postal Codes version '504' and version '603'. Looking at the '603' version in explorer reveals it has '0 bytes' which explains why it won't load.
I've looked at the downloaded Western Europe Map cab file and it doesn't appear to contain any postal codes files - just the map contents.
It's a big download and I don't want to download it again unless I need to . . . . . so . . . . . I'm after a little advice from my friends . . . . . that's you!!
Can those people who have downloaded the new Western Europe 6 please confirm which version of the Postal Codes they have please?

Should already be on your card as "zip" folder. |

Err yeah . . . . I know that but that's version 504.
Where did the empty 603 come from? |

I'm not sure when I downloaded this newer version. So, how di I get a copy with more than 0 bytes?
I've re-downloaded the Western Europe map but that's all I get - the map!! Where do I get a working version of 603 ?? |

Struth . . . . pulling teeth comes to mind.
Looking at the first two replies, I appear to have over-complicated my question so I'll rephrase it.
1. Does anyone know the latest version number of the GB postal code file?
2. If it's higher than version 504, where can we get a newer version from?
I'm off to Brugge for a week's leave tomorrow so don't get upset if I don't answer all your helpful replies.

In TT Home, I'm showing version 603, size is 8.7Mb
I recently bought/upgraded the UK map and it came with that. You now get UK, NI & major roads of western europe. _________________ ________________________________________

Thanks for the reply David.
As you can see from my first post, I downloaded the new Western Europe map (ver 6.60) and now appear to have Postal Code 603 shown in HOME.
It won't install the Postal Codes file and, upon investigation, I've discovered it's got 0 bytes.
I've re-downloaded the Western Europe map again but the Postal Codes file is still shown as 0 bytes.
If I look inside the downloaded Western Europe CAB file sat on my PC it doesn't contain the Postal Codes file - just the maps - hence my question.

No offer of a copy containing more than 0 bytes (as you know I've legally bought the new map) or advice as to where the new version came from.

Well actually, no one except you and maybe TomTom knows you've legally bought the new map. _________________ Tim |

Yeah right . . . . do I have to show you a photocopy of my proof of purchase?
I would have thought by the way I described it, and the many posts that I have made on this forum, I would have been considered as NOT being a pirate!!
