GPS 2.08 Configuration

In the GPS tab of GPS 2.08 could someone please tell me what setting is changed using the slide bar next to the speaker one. Question

When set to the left it looks like a PDA screen with "Z Z Z" and when slid to the right it looks like the TomTom hands logo.

When it shows ZZZ it basically means if the Pocket PC doesn't have power, it will power off under the default power save settings configured on the Pocket PC. If it's showing a PDA with a red TomTom logo then TomTom is configured to keep the Pocket PC alive, so it will never power off when on battery.
