Anyone been able to find a keyboard for the PiN 570. I have found:
IR keyboards
Targus
Belkin
Thinkoutside Stowaway

And clipping onto the connector at the bottom:
Darfon/Acer (Darfon is a subsidiary of Acer)

Anyone used any of these with success on a PiN 570? I gather it is an Acer N35 clone, so probably the Darfon/Acer is the best but, and it's a physical connection, so it should be best.

Be grateful for any buying tips. All the websites have woefully out of date compatibility charts, and none show the Navman products.

Thanks

Whilst I don't have the 570 I do have the older PiN 300 with SmartST v3 software and maps. I purchased a IR keyboard (hama brand) on one of my many trips to Europe and found it to be a total disaster. So much so it has sat, unused, on my desk for nearly 2 years.

The problem I had was that the keyboard driver rendered the connection between SmartST Desktop v3 inoperable in as far as loading maps etc.
Not knowing if I had a Navman Software issue at the time, I contacted them and they had no answer to what the problem was at that time. After some weeks they suggested I power off the PiN and then power back on, which creates a completely "new" system void of any added drivers softwares etc. On reloading the Navman softwares all then worked again.

Of course the bottom line was that Navman blamed the hama keyboard at having faulty and non-tested drivers, whereas hama blamed the Navman softwares for the problem.

From my point of view, I don't intend to revisit the "my good idea" of an IR keyboard.

Best Regards
Denis
