Basically I cant get it to plot a route to anywhere I know of, it always just brings up Aberdeen or Liverpool, I got Taunton once. I go to type in city name, tried St Albans, no luck, Hatfield, nope, Milton Keynes, nope, Northampton even no luck. So when I go to type in a post code it basically doesnt do it, I try to ytpe in AL10 etc.. but it just comes up with Aberdeen postcodes. Anyone know whats wrong? I have the latest firmware, when you go to Points Of Intrest and say petrol stations or whatever its fine and will find the garage down the road.
If anyone could shed any light id be grateful can chat on MSN or whatever. |

Hi Banford,
to the forum!
Have you tried resetting the TomTom ONE unit?
Have a look here for instructions.

Still no luck! I simply cant navigate anywhere. I didnt buy this new and ive spent 4 hours this morning trying to work it. Info -
Device AK5SG AJFSN
App 6.520 (7690/061002) OS:1387
29 MB RAM (free 6.2MB)
GPS v1.21, Boot 4.86
Map: 'Great_Britain-Map' V605.0
Lanuage English UK
I cant even find my own house on it or work or anything. I might have to take a video on my phone and UL it to Utube or something to show just how rubbish it is.

Hi Banford,

Did the seller say whether the unit worked or did not work?
Any chance that you could contact the seller and ask for a demonstration?
In the meantime, try the following:
1. Switch off the unit and remove the SD card. Check the SD card contacts for dirt and clean with a dry cloth if necessary.
2. Reinsert SD card and perform another soft reset.
3. Go to your vehicle and ensure that the power supply is 12v (I can’t remember of the ONE can take both 12v and 24v)
4. Insert the power cable into the ONE and your cigar socket, ensure that the cigar socket has power but don’t start your vehicle with the ONE connected.
5. Let the ONE unit sit on your dashboard, the correct way up, to get a fix on the GPS satellites.
6. You have a satellite fix once the ascending columns (bottom right hand side of your screen fill) up.
7. You position should be shown as a blue arrow on the map.
8. Tap the screen, tap Navigate to, tap Address, tap Postcode, type in OX11AB (Pembroke Street), tape done. It should route you to that postcode.

Sorry, its no help to you, but this is the most interesting problem in days!
Can you see the whole country when you go "Browse Map"? If you tap somewhere on the map and then select the blue cursor at the bottom will it let you "Navigate there"?
If you type a well known postcode (try W1A 1AA (BBC Broadcasting House)), does that work? |

It could be something really simple like a currupt Great_Britain.Postal file (found in the zip folder on the root directory of your sd card) _________________ TT ONE v2

The touch screen was going to be my next suggestion!
Unfortunately touch screens can be expensive to replace.
You have two choices:
1. Get a refund
2. Get it repaired, have a chat with the SatNav Shop

He says it has a 1 year warranty so hopefully not all is lost. Kept me entertained on a Friday afternoon anyway, Cheers. |

ALL NEW TT's come with a 2 year warranty, not 1 year.
I think you only get a 1 year warranty on a TT refurbed unit. |
