I have just bought RIDER with V6 software and subscribed to Camera Database - this now is separate to POI database: can anyone tell me how I can access the alerts configuration - to set the distance before alert and (hopefully the message that is generated. I can see how to switch the alerts on and off but not how to change anything else.
Thanks

I don't think you CAN if you've wasted your money on the TT camera database |

True - now TT have made the decision not to use the POI system for their camera database, you cannot change either the alert sound or distance. Daft, eh?
Two suggestions:
1. Contact TomTom and tell them they are fools.
2. Use the camera database from here instead, which will give you full control over alert distance and sound or voice alert messages. |

Thanks guys for the response - not exactly the response I was hoping for
Is it possible to install the Pocket GPS POI's alongside the TomTom and would they both function? The main reason for getting the TomTom cameras was that I wanted the Traffic Alerts and getting the Camera alerts as well was very cheap (only additional 10 euro).
Cheers

Yes they will both work side by side quite happily, although you will obviously get two alerts for cameras that are in both databases.
Would be interesting to hear your opinion of which is best in your area. |
