|
|
Hello - i've been using this forum for a while as a good source of information but for the frst time might be able to help out.
Fired a copy of tomtom nav 6 on my navman Pin 570 PDA )had prev been running tomtom 5 with no issues)
couldn't get the full postcode option to work and done some browsing on here.
TRY THIS
start
programs
file explorer
[select my device]
storage card
press and hold select on the zip file
select copy
[select my device]
program files
navigator
select on a blank bit of the screen and hold
paste
by moving the zip folder onto the pda I now have full post code search for the UK and netherladns back.
will still try and find an .ini file or whatever thats looking at the wrong folder for the zip file.
WORTH A TRY
might help some of you out.
Regards
Tony |

There is no INI file. TomTom uses CFG files.
Anyhow, the ZIP folder normally resides in the root of the storage card. _________________ Lutz

fair play on the usuall location of the zip folder, but I didn't get full post codes. On moving it to the directory on my pda I now have full post code searching. I'm happy with it now working just thought I'd share. Will look for cfg files though thanks

.cfg files are in the map folders.
For the PostCodes to work on TTN5 you would probably have had a blank folder, named tomtom, on your SD Card. Not sure if this works with TTN6 but worth a try. _________________ Formerly known as Lost_Property

tried the blank tomtom folder, agreed this worked on ttn5 but I didn't find this worked on ttn6. will have a look for cfg in the map folder and see if they can be edited successfully.
BTW anyone know what changed from ttn5 mapping to ttnn6 maping? I fired in a newer map intot the pda and it didn't recognise it. updated to ttn6 and it reads the new ones no problem.

Putting the ZIP folder in the Tomtom folder works if you have v6.00 (in other words the illegal cracked version). If you have v6.01 it should work fine in the root of your SD card. |
