Anyone got or know of any good satnav insurance. I've looked at a few policys and they all don't cover my needs as follows.

Cover in a Comercial Vehicle i.e my Work Lorry

Cover as long as the Doors are locked and Windows Closed.

Quick Payout

I've seen a few and most say they don't cover commercial vehicles and the rest say satnav must be in a locked glovebox or something I do not have a locked glovebox i'm willing to take it off the screen when I stop and try and hide it but considering I stop at least 20 times during the day I don't want to much hassle.

I know I'm not going to be Mr popular for saying this, but no type of insurance is going to stop you getting your window smashed and sat nav nicked if you leave it in the vehicle.

Even if you do find insurance that will cover you, they will start getting with you (and delay or refuse the claim) after you have had a few sat navs nicked. Not to mention the inconvienience of driving around with no window then having your lorry off the road for repairs.

ANY GPS unit with a distinctive windscreen mount will make you a target, regardless of if you take the unit with you or lock it up in the vehicle.

So what's the answer?

Get a Smartphone with TomTom and a bluetooth GPS, put it in a generic crappy looking phone holder and take the thing with you when you leave the truck (or create a secret hiding place for it). Any toerag will only see a phone holder and (hopefully!) leave your lorry alone.

Good luck! Thumbs Up
