For about 6 weeks I have been unable to connect via Tomtom Home to the Tomtom website. (Is that such a bad thing?)
I have re-loaded the Tomtom Home software many times having very carefully uninstalled all remnants of it - even clearing the registry. All to no avail.
I am running Windows XP, use Internet Explorer and also use Zonealarm.
Prior to 6 weeks ago everything worked fine and then it stopped working. Obviously something has changed but nothing deliberatley so I suspect an automatic update has modified something.
I have a TT700 on 6.15.
Has anyone experienced a similar problem? |

Sorry RQ but I'm on XP, use IE 7.0 & ZA Pro with no problems.
Have YOU done anything to your PC about 6 weeks ago?
If not how about doing a system restore? |

Welcome to the club - it's not that very exclusive, but hey. TT support refuse to admit there is any problem; what a surprise!
I find that any version of Home after 1.2 doesn't work properly; 1.30.30 seemed to work but intermitently, so a I gave up on that; . ANY later versions simply won't connect for me. Bet they've put something "nasty" into the code.

Binman,
I did not mention first time around that I had another computer running Win 2000 previously when it first failed. The computer was a bit slow and needed replacing and I got hold of a new box. And still the problem.
I assume by system restore - you mean the computer and not the TT.. I can give it a go but don't hold out much hope.
I have honestly tried all reasonable things - I just wonder whether there is something on the TT or that gest written into the TT home directory.
Henry G,
I think I have an older version of home and will try that.
Both of you - thanks for your replies. I will let you know how I get on.
Thanks |
